Lorna Lim’s beautiful voice, her deep knowledge of hula, and her connection to the Big Island’s music tradition place her among Hawaii’s living treasures. Born and raised in the North Kohala district on Hawaii, she began playing music at an early age with her award-winning family known simply as the The Lim Family. Her sister Nani is one of Hawaii’s most renowned Hula teachers, and her GRAMMY-nominated brother, Sonny Lim, is one of Hawaii’s top slack key guitarists. Lorna has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. The translation of the title of Lorna’s solo release, “Polinahe”, ‘poli’ meaning from from the heart and ‘nahe’ meaning sweet and pure – sums up Lorna’s musical style and the beautiful quality of her voice.
