Jeff Peterson

Slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson, grew up on Haleakala Ranch on Maui. Peterson’s fluency in a variety of guitar styles, including jazz and classical, has distinguished him as a prominent contemporary slack key guitar artist. His music was featured on the film "The Descendants” and he performed on Hawai`i’s first GRAMMY® award-winning CD, “Slack Key Guitar Volume 2".
Jeff has performed Eric Clapton, James Galway, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Aaron Neville, Boz Scaggs, the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Keola Beamer, Nathan Aweau, Amy Hanaiali’i, The Matt Catingub Orchestra of Hawaii, jazz bassist Rufus Reid, shakuhachi master Riley Lee, Taiko master Kenny Endo, Classical guitarist Benjamin Verdery, Hindustani Slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, the string quartet Ethel, and many other artists in Hawaiian, classical, and jazz music. He has toured in Europe, Asia, Australia and the U.S and is the recipient of several Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He currently lives in Honolulu with his wife, Kahealani. J
